Powered by AI to cut the chaff and head straight to successful placement, Boilr. connects recruiters with the right businesses for maximum results.

In the aftermath of the COVID epidemic, the recruitment industry faced massive changes. It was from 2022-2024 that the industry hit its peak, said Felix Hermann, the Luxembourger who co-founded recruitment startup Boilr.

“Thousands of small boutique recruitment agencies appeared out of nowhere, because people saw an opportunity,” Hermann said. But the surge wasn’t one that would last, and by the end of 2024, normality had returned, bringing with it a need for new ideas.

“You have a market that is crashing, so competition is higher because there’s less demand for recruitment. That’s the gap we saw,” the Luxembourger explained.

With a background in sales and business development, Hermann noticed that companies were using software that was “pretty mediocre”. That’s where he and his team seized their chance.

Targeting Recruitment Pain Points

His startup, Boilr. has been doing things differently from the very start. Working with a product developer and investing in AI tools, they built a beta version of their recruitment software. Through hundreds of cold-calls to recruitment agencies, Hermann and his team secured 10 agencies, setting out with one main goal: to find the industry’s achilles heel.

“You have a lot of pain points that are important, because [recruiters] want to save time,” he said, “but there’s always that one tiny pain point that’s really important to them, and that’s where you want to be.”

Through weekly meetings over two months, the 10 companies consistently provided feedback without holding back. Meanwhile, Boilr. worked on fixing what wasn’t working and developing its product. “I told them, this product is bad, so you have to tell me what is bad about it, and what I should fix,” he recalled. “Until we got to a point where they said, ‘Okay, this is it.’”

A Connection Between Agencies And Businesses

Hermann and his team pride themselves on being able to slash time and effort spent on identifying the right opportunities.

“A recruitment boutique usually has between 10 and 100 recruiters,” described Hermann. “In the morning, they look at LinkedIn, look at Indeed, look at who’s hiring.”

They examine new companies hiring in their domain, contact a hiring manager, and then recommend their candidate. Hermann says that recruiters are strong at identifying good candidates, but they fall short when it comes to contacting the right companies to present candidates to.

Here’s where Boilr.ai steps in. Recruiters answer eight standard questions to help the Boilr.ai team understand what they’re looking for. Then, the Boilr. AI agent goes deep.

“You can do a very broad search  if you want to [explore] the whole market,” he said. “Or you can do a very specific search like ‘I don’t want jobs on LinkedIn because everyone sees them’ or ‘I want jobs posted in the last 24 hours’.”

“We [also] built specific tools which can identify what they are searching for, which industry, what positions, how big the company should be, what should be in the candidate descriptions, and all these different categories,” Hermann said. “And [the agent] searches every corner of the internet, not only job boards or LinkedIn, but also company websites and on socials.”

Every time the agent finds something relevant, the recruiter is “bombarded with relevant leads” which are held on a dashboard. The recruiter then takes 15 minutes to review the results, which include email addresses and phone numbers.

“We gather a lot of data and we have a lot of market intelligence from that,” Hermann added, “so we have a real-time understanding of which sectors are growing, what is hot at the moment, what’s not.”

Into The Future

Since October 2025, the company has grown rapidly; the platform currently serves a hundred clients. While Boilr.ai mainly serves the UK, which they have identified as the biggest market in the world with 30,000 recruitment agencies, their services are not limited to a single location. In 2026, the team plans to expand to Germany, and also has its sights set on more EU countries and the US.
