WeSTEM+ is dedicated to making STEM inclusive for all. Through mentorship, hands-on programs, and community support, they empower women and underrepresented groups to thrive in STEM careers.
What’s the story behind WeSTEM+? What’s your mission?
WeSTEM+: We saw a problem and decided to fix it. Too many women and underrepresented groups were missing from STEM, and after leading Girls in Tech Luxembourg, we knew things had to change. So, we stepped up.
WeSTEM+ (Women Excel in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) is all about making STEM a space where everyone belongs. The “plus” stands for inclusivity—beyond gender—to support people from all backgrounds, including different ethnicities, LGBTQ+ communities, people with disabilities, and those who might not have had access to these opportunities before. Our mission? Make STEM careers feel accessible, exciting, and within reach for all.
What programs are you running to make that happen?
WeSTEM+: We keep it hands-on and practical—no boring lectures here.
- BI Academy – A 12-week crash course in business intelligence for people looking to break into tech, minus the overwhelm.
- Robotics Rookies – A super fun program for girls (12-18) to build, create, and explore robotics in a way that’s anything but intimidating.
- Mentorship & Career Support – Think of it as a STEM career GPS. We match women with mentors who help them navigate challenges and level up. (Right now, we’re running our second edition with Goodyear!)
- Workshops & Networking Events – A mix of skill-building sessions and real talk with industry pros, minus the awkward small talk.

What are the biggest challenges for women in STEM, and how are you tackling them?
WeSTEM+: First up: self-doubt. Too many women hesitate to step into STEM because they think they don’t have what it takes. Spoiler alert: they do. We tackle this with mentorship, training, and a community that constantly reminds them they belong here.
Another big one? A lack of role models. It’s tough to imagine yourself in STEM when you don’t see people who look like you in leadership roles. So, we make sure women in STEM are front and center in everything we do.
And then there’s access—too many barriers to training, education, and job opportunities. That’s why we keep our programs free or affordable and partner with companies to make sure more people get a fair shot.
How do you build a real sense of community?
WeSTEM+: We’re more than just an organization—we’re a support system. Whether it’s through mentorship, workshops, or just a space to ask questions and get advice, we make sure no one feels alone in their STEM journey. Our online community is always buzzing with job postings, wins (big and small), and people just helping each other out. When we lift each other up, amazing things happen.

WeSTEM+: We’re dreaming big—expanding our programs, launching new ones in AI, space, and fintech, and partnering with even more industry leaders to make lasting change.And we need all the help we can get.
