Bridging Europe’s Tech Skills Gap: An Apprentice Guide

Business sustainability and competitiveness relies on committed teams. Apprenticeships can serve as a strategic lever to attract and train the talent of tomorrow.

To help Luxembourg employers leverage its resources, the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce has published an updated edition of The Practical Guide dedicated to apprenticeship. The programme’s model is based on the combination between theoretical education in specific school settings and practical immersion in a company benefiting both the apprentice and the employer.

Each year the Chamber of Commerce manages around 2,000 future professionals in sectors such as the industry, commerce, hospitality (Horeca) and social/healthcare.

However, to meet emerging market needs especially in the tech fields, new training programmes are regularly developed, and existing ones are continuously adapted.

Published under the tagline ‘’Shape Your Future – DäiWee. Deng Beruffsausbildung ‘’, the guide helps companies to understand how apprenticeships work in Luxembourg and their advantages. It is presented clearly with key steps, a list of relevant qualifications, testimonials, useful contacts and more.

Employers and learners can find a wide range of apprenticeships and professions on the website www.shapeyourfuture.lu. A fun and interactive video experience helps learners identify career paths that align with their interests and strengths.

Through this initiative, Luxembourg continues to invest in its future workforce – offering practical, high-quality education while supporting employers in developing the skills they need most.

The Practical Guide is available in French and German and can be downloaded on the official site of the Chamber of Commerce.
