E-Marketplace And Retail Breakfast And Learn Session: a Huge Success

Filling Stomachs & Minds – For many, 8 AM may be way too early to be awake and already at an event ready to participate. However, when the activity is a Silicon Luxembourg Breakfast & Learn event initiated by The Luxembourg Entrepreneur & Startup Meetup Group, then who can resist?!

The April 15th session had over 40 individuals with a variety of backgrounds attend. They were all looking to learn from advice given by Viviane Bumb, the founder of the e-boutique qip home, Karolina Szatna, an entrepreneur and co-owner of the retail shop Ben&Pepper Boutique, and Linda Bos, an experienced graphic designer and owner of the design firm Pretty Forest. In addition, Karolina and Linda are co-founders of lët’z go local, a nationally-recognized initiative that increases the visibility of local products to consumers and connects local businesses with each other using a market platform. At their last market, over 2000 people visited!

Regardless of whether you focus on an e-marketplace or a physical retail store venture, many of the tips overlapped and could be used for either type of startup. One of the most important lessons shared was that entrepreneurs must know their product and trust it; thus, they must believe in their concept and fight for it! In addition, appearance is important in both e-retail and physical retail shops, so entrepreneurs looking to enter this space should not underestimate the importance of it. Lastly, all entrepreneurs should be confident and sell that confidence as part of their product or service to the consumer, even if they are a beginner!

After hearing some great pieces of advice from successful e-commerce and retail entrepreneurs, the event concluded with a networking session. As always, there was a buzz in the air as people exchanged ideas and stories while enjoying croissants and coffee at Downtown Café, the home of the Breakfast & Learn events.
