Experience Music In One Mobile App With Sopranos

“All the ways to experience music in one app only”. The claim sounds exciting. And SOPRANOS‘ app did it. The new mobile application offers a large range of features: video clips, artists info, lyrics, instruments scores, blind tests, karaoke, and of course songs and music! The app aggregates all music providers like Spotify, Deezer or Juke and will soon integrate a Shazam like feature. To succeed, SOPRANOS is supported by the consumers electronic retail chain, Media Saturn, and already planned to expand abroad. We asked experienced entrepreneur David Iachetta to detail this new mobile application, and how it is differentiated from a wide range of existing music apps.

[…] we will be one of the very first being able to display SOPRANOS through the new Apple TV to be launched in late November by Apple.

What is the purpose of Sopranos?

SOPRANOS’ objective is to upgrade your music experience. By upgrading, we mean that you’re not limited to only “Listen” to your music but also to “Enjoy” it. During the next few months, SOPRANOS will be improved with the “Learn” music experience and migrated to your home environment as the solution will be developed for TV.

What are the main functionalities of the app?

First of all, SOPRANOS aggregates all music providers like Spotify, Deezer, Juke, and work on all hardware system including SONOS environment. In terms of app features, we highlight the video clips integration and artist info, the lyrics which could be simultaneously translated into your mother tongue, the blind test game aside of the karaoke option which allows to display synchronized lyrics, and the scores search engine allowing musicians to instantly view all instruments scores of the their favorite songs.

How do you differentiate from well-know app like Shazam?

Shazam is mainly focusing on music discovery where SOPRANOS is bringing a new dimension and improving the way people are consuming the music. In the near future, we’ve planned to integrate a Shazam like feature called Gracenote which will bring music recognition to SOPRANOS app.

We are also different in our approach to the users. Where most of the apps usually develop their database over the web and social media, we have the chance of being supported by the famous consumers electronic retail chain, Media Saturn. Through this partnership we are reaching out to the user while he is shopping his new Hi-Fi sound system or his new phone.

What are the next steps of Sopranos’ development/expansion?

SOPRANOS has been launched a few days ago and we will continue to promote it through huge local event such as the David Guetta’s show and the Web Summit contest in Dublin to which we’ve just been selected to participate. We are really excited about this event, as we will be one of the very first being able to display SOPRANOS through the new Apple TV to be launched in late November by Apple.

In 2016, SOPRANOS will continue its development and be spread around the world. Fund raising is planned for this year end but still not validated yet, but doors are still open… 🙂

As an experienced entrepreneur what do you think about the Luxembourg’s startup scene?

I’ve indeed founded multiple companies in enterprise mobility that are based in Luxembourg. I think the environment and infrastructure are ready to support young entrepreneurs. It’s a very people connected environment that facilitates introductions and fast responses when you’re searching for help. The only brake you may encountered is maybe the specific tech profiles which are not so easy to find.

To build the SOPRANOS story, it is quite different as we’re are speaking about a B2C app meaning that the goal is to reach a maximum of users. We definitely need to expand the solution across borders and let the world know that we’re coming from Luxembourg, the best place to set up startups!
