Google Cloud has named Joost Smit as its new Country Lead for the Benelux region after serving as interim Country Lead.
With over 20 years of IT experience, including leadership roles at Capgemini and Accenture, he will oversee sales strategies and drive growth in this key market.
Google has expanded its infrastructure in Belgium and the Netherlands to support rising demand for cloud services, benefiting major companies like ASML, Carrefour Belgium, Odoo, and startups like Cradle and Mollie.
“We are thrilled to have Joost lead our Benelux operations,” said Anthony Cirot, EMEA South VP at Google Cloud. “His deep market knowledge and cloud expertise make him the perfect fit.”
Google Cloud now has an active presence in Luxembourg with a growing local team of nearly ten people, further strengthening its regional footprint.
