François Leproux, Luxembourg Space Café Event Manager at Orbital Network, shares how the community event series connecting Luxembourg’s space ecosystem reaches its 17th edition — this time at SnT, with research-industry collaboration in the spotlight.
What is Luxembourg Space Café, and who is it aimed at?
The Luxembourg Space Café is a recurring community event aimed at bringing together the Luxembourg space ecosystem in an informal but high-value setting. The audience typically includes professionals from industry, researchers, students, entrepreneurs, institutional actors, and people from adjacent innovation sectors interested in space and technology. Since 2026, Orbital Network has been organising and developing the Space Café series with the objective of creating a regular meeting point for the local ecosystem through short thematic talks and networking sessions.
Why did you choose to focus this edition on bridging research and industry — and is this the key challenge for Luxembourg’s spacetech ecosystem right now?
This edition at SnT focuses on bridging research and industry because we believe this is one of the key structuring challenges for Luxembourg’s spacetech ecosystem today: ensuring that strong local research capabilities translate into concrete industrial collaborations, applications, and opportunities for students and companies alike. That’s why we are very happy to have Redwire Space as co-sponsor — a major space company established in Luxembourg working closely with SnT on the development of their space robots.
With 17 editions in, what are your ambitions for the series going forward?
Our ambition is to continue growing Space Café as a long-term, community-driven platform connecting research, industry, institutions, and emerging actors across the sector.
