After its successful first edition, Nexus Luxembourg returns in 2025 with even greater ambitions. Bigger, more structured, and more impactful, it aims to position Luxembourg as a key tech hub. The event’s two key figures, Mike Koedinger and Kamel Amroune, share what they learned and what to expect next. Discover the key lessons, new features, and vision.
What lessons from the first edition influenced Nexus Luxembourg 2025?
Mike Koedinger (MK): With 5,600 unique participants from 62 countries in the first edition, we were pleasantly surprised by the scale of its success. Above all, this first edition taught us the power of collaboration: when hundreds of people, institutions, and companies join forces around a common project, the impact is immense.
Our ambition is to develop an international platform capable of positioning Luxembourg as a key player in AI and tech, attracting experts, startups, and investors from around the world.
We also learned that better coordination between stakeholders takes time. That is why, together with our four leading institutional partners—the Luxembourg Government, the City of Luxembourg, the Chamber of Commerce, and Luxinnovation—we have established a dedicated task force.
This structure allows us to discuss the strategic direction of the event in an enriching and unifying environment. This collaborative work, led by committed and connected actors, will undoubtedly be reflected in the success of the 2025 edition.

What new features will mark this edition with 6,500 participants and 300 startups?
Kamel Amroune (KA): In 2025, we are indeed expecting more than 6,500 participants, over 300 startups, and 200 speakers. We will also welcome more than 100 exhibitors and over 1,000 guests at the closing dinner. Overall, the event will span 13,500 square meters and feature 17 stages, including 10 dedicated to knowledge sharing and training.
We have completely redesigned the event’s layout in collaboration with the architecture firm 2001, led by Philippe Nathan, which had already designed the previous edition’s scenography. This year, the main stage will accommodate up to 1,200 spectators.
We are also continuing our “silent disco” concept, where the audience listens to conferences via their own AirPods or headphones, thanks to the Nexus app. This app integrates ticketing, the program, and the list of speakers and participants, making networking and meeting scheduling easier. The app remains central to the event before, during, and after, maximizing the participants’ experience.
How does Nexus Luxembourg strengthen the country’s position in tech and innovation?
MK: Nexus is now the largest tech and business event in Luxembourg. It enjoys exceptional support from both the private sector and public institutions, creating a unique dynamic.
All forces are mobilized to make Nexus Luxembourg 2025 an international success, attracting a qualified audience and positioning Luxembourg as a strategic hub for international companies looking to establish themselves in Europe. With a market of nearly 500 million inhabitants, the country serves as an ideal gateway to the European ecosystem.
What are the key highlights: conferences, startup competitions, networking?
KA: The event is punctuated by numerous key moments. It will open with a prestigious ceremony featuring His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duke, Prime Minister Luc Frieden, Luxembourg City Mayor Lydie Polfer, as well as Carlo Thelen and Mario Grotz, the heads of the Chamber of Commerce and Luxinnovation, respectively. The closing will be just as remarkable, with the presence of Minister Xavier Bettel, followed by the grand closing dinner bringing together over 1,000 guests.
With 17 stages, a multitude of side events, and the Fit 4 Start awards ceremony, it’s difficult to highlight just a few key moments!
Although Nexus officially takes place on June 17–18, the event kicks off as early as June 16 with badge distribution in the city center and a pub crawl in the old town, allowing participants to network in a relaxed atmosphere before the official opening. There will also be an official meeting day for international delegations.
Finally, the day after the closing dinner, buses will transport several hundred students to the companies sponsoring their tickets. This unique initiative aims to attract talent to Luxembourg and strengthen employer branding for participating companies.

What are the long-term ambitions for Nexus and its impact?
MK: From its first edition, Nexus has established itself as a truly international event. But to go even further, we must take on an ambitious collective challenge: making Nexus an unmissable global event.
Our goal is for this event to be indispensable not only for Luxembourgish players but also for international companies and investors. Luxembourg must fully leverage Nexus’s impact to attract businesses, talent, venture capital, and accelerate the digital transformation of local companies, whether SMEs or the manufacturing industry.
