Luxembourg space and communications firm OQ Technology has been selected to join Europe’s largest space startup accelerator, the CASSINI Space Entrepreneurship Initiative.
Founded in 2016 in Luxembourg by Omar Qaise, the company has rapidly emerged as a leader in deploying Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites to provide global Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) services, particularly targeting remote and underserved regions.
The CASSINI Business Accelerator is a six-month, Europe-wide programme designed to propel the commercial growth of space startups and scaleups. Launched in January 2023 by the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) and European Commission, it brings together 20 of the top space startups in Europe.

Bridging Digital Divide
OQ Technology aims to bridge the digital divide by offering seamless IoT connectivity through its LEO satellite constellation. By focusing on 5G NTN (Non-Terrestrial Network) connectivity, it is pioneering the world’s first constellation of LEO satellites offering 5G coverage for Direct-to-Device applications based on standardized 3GPP 5G technology. This technology enables direct communication between satellites and IoT devices, facilitating applications across various sectors, including energy, logistics, maritime, agriculture, and defence. This approach allows for the integration of existing cellular chips and devices, extending IoT connectivity to areas lacking traditional network infrastructure.
Global Presence
Today, OQ Technology has offices in Greece, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Rwanda and it has partnered with Fortune 500 companies such as Aramco, Deutsche Telekom, and Telefonica.
The firm was among 100 applicants selected for Batch 5 of the CASSINI Business Accelerator running from June to November 2025.
Through the programme, OQ Technology expects to benefit from a range of strategic initiatives, such as access to investor matchmaking opportunities, participation in exclusive industry events, expert-led training and mentoring and strategic guidance.
