Luxembourg-based startup RoasterCup wants to make it easier to access high-quality artisanal products while helping independent producers reach customers beyond their local markets.
The idea came from a simple observation. While working at Amazon, one of the co-founders noticed that many artisanal producers of fresh goods didn’t really have a marketplace adapted to their needs. Selling products like specialty coffee, tea or chocolate internationally comes with specific logistical challenges, and most existing platforms were not designed for that.
RoasterCup was created to address that gap.
The platform connects independent producers with businesses and consumers looking for fresh artisanal products. For producers, it offers a way to reach new customers internationally without having to deal with the complexity of distribution and logistics on their own. For offices, hospitality businesses and even private consumers, it provides an easy way to discover and order products directly from independent producers.
One of the main differences compared to other marketplaces is the focus on logistics. Shipping fresh products is not as straightforward as traditional e-commerce, and RoasterCup has built its model around solving that challenge. This allows producers to ship freshly made products directly to customers while keeping the process simple.
Today the platform focuses on three main categories: coffee, tea and chocolate. Around twenty producers are already active on the platform, and new ones are joining regularly as the network grows.
RoasterCup is also part of Luxembourg’s startup ecosystem. After taking part in the Fit4Start acceleration programme, the company joined the Luxembourg-City Incubator at the House of Startups. Being part of the ecosystem helps the team stay connected with other founders and continue developing the company locally.
The next step for RoasterCup is international expansion. France is expected to be the first market outside Luxembourg as the startup continues to grow its community of producers and customers.
At its core, the ambition behind RoasterCup is simple: make it easier to access high-quality artisanal products while giving independent producers a way to scale their business beyond their local market.
