The Edinburgh incubator is based in the heart of the city and is currently hosting more than 80 software-oriented startups. CodeBase represents 20,000 square meters of office facilities that accommodate startup teams ranging from 2 to 100+ members. Edinburgh has an active startup scene with successful mature companies such as Skyscanner and FanDuel. The city has a local ecosystem that supports web services, SaaS, new media and gaming companies. Technoport and CodeBase have discussed collaborating in order to support startups in international user validation and early adopter onboarding strategies.

CodeBase, just as Technoport, has invested in community testing facilities. In Edinburgh, the startups will have access to the Device Lab and in Luxembourg to the DX-Studio (Digital Experience Studio). Both support services provide new media and web-service testing capabilities. Effective synergies are to be built in that area across the two incubators. Moreover, Technoport representatives met with the partners of CodeBase, Creative Edinburgh and CodeClan. Creative Edinburgh supports digital creative ventures. Edinburgh is home to around 2,500 businesses working in digital media, employing over 40,000 people and contributing over £800 million to the Scottish economy. CodeClan is a digital skill academy providing a rage of software development courses through a 16-week immersive course. CodeClan’s mission is to support individuals in acquiring relevant digital skills to be job-ready junior developers.
