Uber Green, the company’s fully electric ride-hailing option, launches in Luxembourg as part of Uber’s wider goal to become a zero-emission platform by 2040.

Uber has launched its fully electric ride service, Uber Green, in Luxembourg—marking a significant step in the platform’s sustainable mobility roadmap. Available now via the Uber app, the service allows riders to book 100% electric vehicles at no additional cost to UberX, combining tech-driven convenience with a greener footprint.

The launch is part of Uber’s global push to become a zero-emission platform by 2040, encompassing EV rides, public transport, and micro-mobility solutions. “Luxembourg’s progressive stance on clean transport makes it the ideal next stop for Uber Green,” said Laurent Slits, Uber’s Director for Luxembourg.

The move builds on Uber’s fast-growing ecosystem in the country. In May 2024, Uber partnered with local operator WEBTAXI to bring ride-hailing to Luxembourg for the first time, integrating licensed drivers into its platform. The collaboration gave Uber instant market traction and compliance with local regulations. Then in July, Uber Eats entered the market, starting with 200 partner restaurants in Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette.
