Girls in Tech Luxembourg changed its name and will now operate under the name ‘WIDE, women in digital empowerment’. The organization remains chaired by Marie-Adélaïde Gervis, Marina Thiriet and Annabelle Buffart.
This change of identity confirms the independence of the organization. It overall aims to better reflect the actions that have been undertaken on the ground for already close to 3 years. It also underlines the will to offer initiatives tailored to the specificities of the Grand-Duchy of Luxembourg. It happens at a moment when the organization has clearly been recognized as a key player regarding the issues surrounding the participation and visibility of women in the IT and digital sectors in Luxembourg.
The team remains unchanged and will continue to carry out its mission in Luxembourg in close cooperation with its historical partners: Amazon, Microsoft, Digital Lëtzebuerg – Service Média Communication, le Ministère de l’égalité des chances, le Service National de la Jeunesse (SNJ) & BeeCreative.
New projects are being launched, in particular the intent to lead new initiatives targeting the field of youth and education.
‘WIDE, women in digital empowerment, embodies the growth of our organization‘, explains Marie-Adélaïde Gervis,’this new name expresses how the spectrum of our actions is widening, in terms of both themes and targets‘. “We thus have the opportunity to create a lasting impact in order to address the needs which we identified on the field”, continues Marina Andrieu.
