Established by the European Commission in September 2022, the High-Level Forum on European Standardisation (HLF) aims to identify priorities for standardisation in support of EU policies and legislation, as well as to address cross-cutting issues such as education and skills.
In this context, the HLF has launched a survey as part of its work on the theme “Education and Skills on Standardisation”. The survey seeks to understand how European businesses currently develop their knowledge and expertise in standards and standardisation—whether through recruitment, in-house or external training, events, or other resources—and to pinpoint persistent gaps.
ILNAS invites all organisations to contribute to this short but critical survey.
Your input is particularly valuable: the findings will contribute to the workstream’s conclusions and recommendations, including on future training activities and the development of the upcoming EU Certificate of Knowledge in Standardisation, a pan-European certificate currently being developed by CEN, CENELEC and ETSI currently being designed by CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI).
The survey covers:
- how organisations address standardisation skills needs across roles (entry-level, technical, business development, management);
- awareness and use of existing education resources (from national standards bodies, CEN, CENELEC, ETSI, ISO/IEC, universities, EU-funded projects and others);
- best practices and successful initiatives, the most relevant may be given visibility in the survey’s outcomes;
- the type of support and resources that would benefit organisations most;
- the value of the upcoming EU Certificate of Knowledge in Standardisation for hiring and in-company training.
ILNAS encourages all organisations to dedicate a few minutes to this survey and to share it widely with colleagues involved in standards-related work:
