The Startup Apéro brought once again together more than 120 entrepreneurs, investors, ecosystem players, and business professionals at the Meliá Luxembourg for an evening of inspiration, networking and entrepreneurial storytelling.
For the 71st edition, we had the pleasure to invite Christos Floros, founder of Monnett, for an insightful fireside chat on innovation, digital sovereignty, and building a startup with a bold vision.
Throughout the conversation, Christos shared his unconventional path from architecture and civic engagement to then launching one of Europe’s emerging social media platforms. He reflected on the experiences that shaped his entrepreneurial mindset and the motivations behind creating Monnett at a time when questions around data privacy, digital independence, and the influence of large technology platforms are becoming increasingly relevant.
The discussion explored why we need a new social platforms and further touched on the challenges and opportunities of building and launching it from Luxembourg. Floros outlined the importance of having a strong team as a fundamental bedrock of a startup and further offered insights into fundraising, product development and the importance of staying committed to a mission, even when facing skepticism and uncertainty.
After an insightful Q&A session, aspiring founders had the opportunity to pitch their ventures or projects to the audience. The event wrapped up with a networking session, accompanied by mediterranean food and refreshing drinks, creating the perfect atmosphere to connect under the summer sun.
A big thank you to our sponsors and partners House of Startups, Startup Luxembourg and the Meliá Luxembourg and everyone who joined us for another memorable Startup Apéro.
