Luxembourg startup ANote won the Aureus Ars & Scientia Prize alongside Belgian companies PLAY IT and Trensition, give them a boost in raising funds for a potential US expansion.
Startups from the greater region vied for the award, backed by not-for-profit association Aureus Ars & Scientia and the University of Luxembourg Incubator and Entrepreneurship Programme. This year’s final round saw 8 startups pitch in front of the jury in the presence of a delegation from Belgium’s Pulse Foundation and French startup accelerator Le Village. The winners will take part in a US immersion roadshow. That will allow them to meet and network with various ecosystem players, including potential partners, clients, and investors.

ANote Music is no stranger to such competitions, having won the regional final of the Startup World Cup in 2022. The music rights fintech is a marketplace for buying and selling royalty interests and intellectual property rights, aiming to bridge the gap between the music industry and the financial markets. Trensition, whose platform Trendtracker forecasts market dynamics, also lined up on the podium. PLAY IT, a learning solution that gamifies corporate training for employees, was the other winner.

Previous winners of the Aureus Ars & Scientia Prize include Chris van de Voorde’s JuuNoo, whose company builds reusable walls for office spaces. The company has raised more than €10m in recent years, and its product has been installed in the Brussels Proximus towers, reports Belgian publication De Tijd.
