aR Assists The Industrial And Medical World

Telindus offers an Assisted Reality (aR) solution allowing technicians and health care personnel to work more efficiently and safely, via a field helmet, goggles or a connected mask.

Telindus, the ICT and telecom brand of Telindus Luxembourg, offers an Assisted Reality (aR) solution for real-time information and communication dedicated to the industrial and health sectors.

For example, thanks to site helmets, goggles or masks equipped with this embedded technology, technicians or medical personnel can carry out their inspection, maintenance, repair or care activities in a more productive and secure manner.

In concrete terms, the technician, engineer or nurse on site connects via his or her connected glasses, helmet or mask equipped with aR software to a remote expert.

The latter can see in real time what is happening on site, and guide them with images, information or annotations visible on their screen.

” The tool allows them to document possible faults live and to get immediate remote assistance in case of an unexpected situation.”

Solution tested in-house

Telindus technicians in charge of inspection or maintenance operations on antennas have tested its solution.

The result is that “these operations are made easier and carried out with their hands completely free in an even more efficient way. The tool allows them to document possible faults live and to get immediate remote assistance in case of an unexpected situation,” says Gilles Mulheims, deputy director Telecom Network & Network Services at Telindus.

“The fact that they can keep their hands free while performing the various tasks – all commands are accessible via a voice interface – also provides greater security in the performance of their duties.”

Weighing 270 grams, the solution operates with a high-resolution camera for low-light photos and videos, a 0.32-inch diagonal 24-bit color LCD display, 64GB of internal memory expandable via a MicroSD slot and an easily hot-swappable battery for all-day use. It operates with 5G, 4G or wifi connectivity.

“Our goal is to improve the efficiency, safety and experience of frontline workers by enabling them to view the information they need, when they need it, while maintaining full awareness of what is happening in their environment,” said Julien Baudouin, Innovation Manager at Telindus.

“Information is available in their immediate field of vision, accessible hands-free and workers are not distracted by computer-generated visual distractions.”
