Doctena online agenda has been awarded this week at Healthcare Summit Luxembourg. The E-Agenda tools of Doctena focus on streamlining the communication between the patient and the doctor, and make it easier for patients to book an appointment and reduce the workload of the practice related to agenda management. Founder Patrick Kersten declared “this award constitues a real acknowledgment from the Luxembourg medical community for our services.” He gave us also more details about the startup growth and expansion in the all Benelux.

You won the Communication Award at the Healthcare Summit Luxembour, what does that mean for you?
The E-Agenda tools of Doctena focus on streamlining the communication between the patient and the doctor. We make it easier for patients to book an appointment and reduce the workload of the practice related to agenda management.
This event was the opportunity for Doctena to get feedback from the healthcare community in Luxembourg. The communication award shows that communication is important to the professionals.

How is going the development of your startup?
Over 10% of practitioners now offer online appointments in Luxembourg and new doctors are joining on a daily basis. This is one of the highest rates in Europe and we are very proud of it.
Doctena is today a team of almost 20 professionals dedicated to the development of online medical booking tools.
You chose to expand abroad as well, what are the main difference between Luxembourg’s market and the others (Belgium, The Netherlands)?
Doctena.nl got started in september. Our activities now cover all of Benelux which represents a population of over 28m and more than 100.000 doctors. It is clear that infrastructures and medical teams are very different in Brussels and Amsterdam. The medical sector is always a very local market. Therefore we have to review and adapt our tools.
What are the next steps for you, your team and your startup?
Our current focus is to consolidate our activities in the market that we operate. We are also having a look at other countries that we could potentially enter.
