Don’t try to profile the burglar before locking the doors
by Stefaan Van Daele, Associate Partner and Executive Security Architect, IBM
Industry has spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours trying to protect itself from cybercrime. However we all know that breaches still occur and they follow a similar model. Something fails to allow the criminal in, they look around for something to steal, they remove data or money. Because current laws require the reporting of breaches we can see how they occur. Something fails or is misconfigured to let them in. Without segmentation they can roam freely around the system to identify what to attack. Lack of detection tools let them get away with the goods.
Complexity is the enemy of security and deploying segmentation using traditional tools is slow and difficult and can ultimately lead to failure. Illumio has a much simpler approach that means a customer can get to effective segmentation much quicker and in a less complex way. In this session we will look at how to break down the barriers to Zero Trust Segmentation.
