Open Source & Cybersecurity – Celebrating International Data Privacy Day 2023

January 26, 2023 @ 18 h 30 min - 20 h 30 min

Open source software is one of the pillars of the European strategy to foster innovation, strengthen our competitive position in the international arena and achieve digital sovereignty. But how might we create a business based on open source software in Luxembourg?

To celebrate the International Data Privacy Day 2023, we have invited experts on open source and decentralization for a fireside chat:

  • Paolo Vecchi (CEO, OmnisCloud) will introduce the benefits of open source and the decentralized, secure alternatives to proprietary software that can support Luxembourg digital sovereignty;
  • Kevin Muller (CEO, Passbolt) will explain how they managed to build a successful cybersecurity business based on open source, the risks of such a choice, the challenges they face and their vision for the future;
  • Itzel Saldivar (TTO, SnT/UniLu) will leverage her expertise in intellectual property law to illustrate a nuanced view on the various licenses and business models based on open source.

Join us for this chat: bring your questions and your own experience!
