Hosted for the first time in Africa, LHoFT brought together ten fintech companies in Togo to participate in its bootcamp. This year’s edition was won by COVA AFRICA, an insurtech company dedicated to serving French-speaking Africa.

Since its inception, the financial inclusion accelerator has accelerated 70 companies from over 25 countries. This year saw over 140 applications, 10 of which were selected to participate in the week-long programme hosted during the African Microfinance Week in Lomé, Togo.

“CATAPULT: Inclusion Africa’s latest edition was a remarkable convergence of firsts – our inaugural programme in Africa, hosted at the SAM, and the first to be conducted in French. This not only signifies the expanding impact of the programme but also our commitment to inclusivity and localisation in fostering African fintech innovations,” said Nasir Zubairi, CEO of the LHoFT.

After a week-long bootcamp full of sessions and mentorship opportunities, the 10 fintechs pitched their ideas in front of a jury composed of Geneviève Hengen, Deputy Director for Bilateral Development Cooperation, and industry stalwarts such as Laura Foschi, Executive Director of ADA, among others.

“Alone we go faster, together we go further”. (African proverb). Thanks to the COVA AFRICA team for their hard work every day, and to the Luxembourg House of Technology for giving COVA AFRICA the opportunity to immerse itself in Luxembourg’s financial inclusion ecosystem for a few days and benefit from exceptional advice, training and meetings,” said Virginie POUNA NGOMI, CEO and co-founder.
