The Luxembourg-based battery and cell upcycling startup was one of ten international startups selected to scale its market reach.

Newly launched this summer by the City of Hamburg, the Scaleup Landing Pad Hamburg is a local initiative offering a range of incentives to startups in order to help them scale across Germany and Europe.

Professional service providers from Hamburg’s innovation ecosystem, as well as Hamburg’s economic promotion agency Hamburg Invest and their networks, will provide valuable one-on-one guidance and incentives worth up to €50K to all participating startups. The aim is to connect dynamic companies from the fields of sustainable mobility and logistics to key players and business partners in the Hamburg metropolitan region and to support them in this endeavour systematically.

“We are extremely happy about the large number of applications we received for the program. They show just how interested young companies are in Hamburg as a location for further growth in areas such as mobility and logistics”, says Dr. Rolf Strittmatter, CEO of Hamburg Invest.

As an expert in upcycling batteries, the Luxembourg-based Circu Li-ion startup was deemed a great match by the panel of experts selected by the Scaleup Landing Pad Hamburg. Tackling e-scooters and e-bikes first, Circu Li-ion unique approach to upcycling batteries helps give them a second life and reduces battery waste in the long run.
