Coding Girls: Empowering Women Through Coding

The Coding Girls has a mission: empowering women all over the world by giving them a tool to achieve their goals, and a vision. With coding.

“We want girls to achieve great things in every sphere of life thanks to coding, by showing them what they can do with it” explained Ivo Radulovski, co-founder of Coding Girls.

Created by Anna Radulovski, having an education background and a passion for tech, Coding Girls started off as a small workshop with 16 girls and a boy and turned into an exciting journey with the aim to start Coding Girls Communities (CGCs) all over the world. Which they did.

“For example, we work with Uber Engineering office in Eastern Europe, Sofia, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment and organizing joint events to attract more talent”

“We had successful workshops that took place in universities all over Philippines. All participants become our best ambassadors. We also are planning to have workshops in Afghanistan and aim for a big impact. It is very hard for women to break out of the limitations of their traditional roles of a mother and wife in this country and being able to connect them to the world through technology, is major for us” said the co-founder.

With over 1,000 members formed at coding, Coding Girls is a success. They also work with companies to create their own community of coders. “For example, we work with Uber Engineering office in Eastern Europe, Sofia, creating a more inclusive and supportive environment and organizing joint events to attract more talent” explained Ivo.

Beyond the workshops, Coding Girls also helps their coding girls, once formed, to find better and more flexible jobs by connecting them with the firms.

“Having an international focus, we want to reach Europe from a strong business, research and technology center – Luxembourg!”

With a worldwide presence, the organization of the Coding Girls has a lot of ambitions.

“We want to expand our platform to have stronger functionalities for match making and build bigger communities to support our organization. Indeed, we intend to develop real products in the future and put them on the market and then use profits made from these, to develop Coding Girls” said Ivo.

Their presence at Arch Summit in May was no coincidence. Indeed, since ArchSummit, the organization has moved its headquarters to Luxembourg. “Having an international focus, we want to reach Europe from a strong business, research and technology center – Luxembourg!” concluded Ivo.
