A collaborative opportunity for EdTech startups, educational decision-makers, and professionals to come together, share insights, learn from each other, and discover innovative solutions.

Organized by SCRIPT of the Ministry of Education, Children and Youth, in partnership with the House of Startups, the latest ED TECH Conference took place on November 27th at the House of Startups, with a primary focus on this crucial subject: the impact of Artificial Intelligence on modern education.

The event kicked off with a Startup Forum dedicated to presenting educational technologies. Both startups and educators in attendance had the opportunity to exchange insights, forge new connections, and deepen their knowledge of the latest innovative trends in education technologies.

The Forum was followed by a pitching session featuring 14 diverse startups, each granted a 5-minute slot to highlight their products to the audience. The primary objective of the pitching session was to provide educational professionals with insights into innovative digital products and tools for education, emphasizing the current applications of AI in education.

Following the pitches, the audience faced the task of voting for their favorite presentation, with Algora – Leading Language & Technology, AI4T, and Sovi securing the audience’s approval for their Talkii solution.

The evening kicked off with a keynote speech led by Prof. Margarida Romero, a professor at Université Côte d´Azur in France and an associate professor at Université Laval in Canada. She coordinates the #Scol_IA Working Group on the educational challenges of artificial intelligence in education and co-directs the international MSc SmartEdTech program. The keynote speech, in front of an audience of over 140 participants, set out numerous ways in which AI concretely impacts education today.

Overall, it was a captivating day filled with inspiration, collaboration, and interest, providing participants with a comprehensive update on the principles of artificial intelligence and its implications for education in both the present and undoubtedly the near future.

Building on this enthusiasm for innovation, SCRIPT is inviting the audience to continue the debates and reflections at a new event open to the public on 18 and 19 January, dedicated to the AI for Teachers by Teachers project.
