Fit 4 Start Goes HealthTech And Digital This Time

Luxinnovation launches a call for applications today. The session is dedicated to innovative HealthTech projects exclusively. Five winners will take part with 15 other ICT and Space startups to be a part of the agency’s startup acceleration program that starts in January 2021.

Fit 4 Start, Luxinnovation’s startup acceleration program, is launching its 10th call for applications today.

The session will started at noon and close on 7th September (noon). This edition is exclusively reserved for HealthTech startups.

“The call for the application and submission processes for startups will be online. However, given the circumstances, the traditional Pitching Day will be replaced by online pitching sessions.”

However, “all projects that were pre-selected during our spring edition will automatically be retained for the pitching,” explains Stéphanie Silvestri, Advisor Start-up Support at Luxinnovation, Luxembourg’s national innovation agency. “No further call for applications will be opened for ICT and Space startups in our autumn edition”.

The announcement of pre-selected HealthTech startups is scheduled for 11 September 2020; Pre-selected startups will pitch online from 28 September to 02 October 2020; 20 startups – 10 in ICT, 5 in Space and 5 in HealthTech – will be selected. Winners will be announced on 15 October.

The benefits include a 16-week program that has individual and group coaching sessions as well as committee meetings. Startups can choose to be hosted in Luxinnovation’s partner incubators Technoport or Luxembourg-City incubator. They can also receive a grant of up to €150,000 by the Ministry of the Economy.

“The call for the application and submission processes for startups will be online. However, given the circumstances, the traditional Pitching Day will be replaced by online pitching sessions”, Stéphanie Silvestri adds. “If the situation permits, coaching sessions will remain 100% face-to-face, starting in January 2021”.

For Silvestri, these 2021 coaching sessions might certainly take on a whole new value-add for startups: “More than ever, the coaching objectives will be to challenge startups on their current activities and markets, their adequacy to meet these needs, as well as the risks that could emerge and put their projects into question”, Luxinnovation’s advisor explains.

To apply for Fit 4 Start, startups must have an innovation-related project, be younger than five years, and have a team of two people minimum (no nationality constraint), with at least one dedicated full-time when participating in Fit 4 Start.
