Entrepreneurship is often celebrated for its success stories, but Luxembourg’s FuckUp Nights (FuN) offers a refreshing counterpoint by highlighting failure as a vital part of growth. Launched by Arnaud Baudet and Guillaume Chatelain, FuN provides a platform where entrepreneurs share stories of missteps and setbacks, turning failures into powerful learning experiences.
“We wanted a space where entrepreneurs could speak openly about failure without stigma,” explains Arnaud. “Too often, only success is celebrated, but failure is one of the best teachers.” FuckUp Nights seeks to normalize failure, transforming it into a source of inspiration for the local entrepreneurial community.
“When I started my first venture, I would have loved to hear from others who dared and didn’t succeed,” says Guillaume. “Building a company takes courage, but when challenges come, you’re often alone. FuN is here to create empathy and resilience among entrepreneurs.”
FuN doesn’t aim to invent new ideas, but the stories it surfaces often spark fresh thinking. “Failures reveal strategic mistakes or bold ideas that didn’t work out,” says Arnaud. “Listening to these stories can inspire participants to explore new approaches.” This openness promotes a culture of experimentation and innovation within Luxembourg’s startup scene.
“Failure is a normal, formative step in any entrepreneurial journey.”

Selecting speakers is essential to FuN’s mission. “We choose speakers with authentic, impactful experiences,” Arnaud explains, highlighting the diversity of backgrounds that FuN aims for. “We want to offer a range of lessons so attendees can either relate or discover new strategies.”
FuN’s mission is to demystify failure and create a supportive community. “Failure is a normal, formative step in any entrepreneurial journey,” Arnaud notes. “We want a space where entrepreneurs find support and inspiration.” For both founders, resilience has been crucial in their journeys. “Each setback taught me something valuable,” says Arnaud. Guillaume adds, “I don’t know if I truly ‘bounced back.’ But through FuN, I’m building something meaningful for the community.”
In Luxembourg, FuckUp Nights is changing the way entrepreneurs view failure, fostering a culture where setbacks lead to growth, support, and stronger, more resilient innovation.
