Gcore, a Luxembourg-based international cloud and edge solutions provider, opened its new DDoS Protection point of presence (PoP) in London, UK. In addition to PoPs in Germany and the Netherlands, this cleaning center, with a filtering capacity of more than 1 Tbps, is designed to make it easier for customers worldwide to work in European markets.

In 2021, it was 300 Gbps, and now it’s already 700 Gbps,” commented Andrew Slastenov, Head of Web Security at Gcore.
From now on, traffic from the UK and surrounding regions will be handled by the new PoP in London. It offers the following performance:
- Less than 1 ms latency in London
- 5–10 ms latency in other areas of the UK
- More than 1 Tbps filtering capacity
- Protection servers based on high-performance 3rd generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable processors
The new filtering center has become a reliable part of Gcore’s Protection infrastructure, defending customers against L3, L4, and L7 attacks. It’s suitable for all users, from enterprises and government organizations to startups and independent developers.
