Running from 19-21 November 2021, Hackathon Thionville is inviting the entrepreneurs, developers and creatives of today to reimagine the city centre of tomorrow. The winner will get their project financed and incubated, runner-up and third place also get a prize. If you think you and your team have what it takes, you can apply until 30 October 2021.

When the city center loses its spark, it is time to start looking for solutions. As one of the 222 cities selected for the Action Coeur de Ville plan, the city of Thionville has decided to bring the most creative and entrepreneurial minds of the Greater Region together to think about how to bring back the spark to the city center of tomorrow.

While traditionally hackathons were exclusively for developers and guys who spent too much time in the basement, nowadays hackathons bring together people with all sorts of backgrounds. This year’s Hackathon Thionville – the first of its kind – is no different. From students to entrepreneurs to curious people, everyone is invited.

Nowadays everyone wants to live to the city. Among the chief reasons for moving to the city are higher standards of living and better job prospects. But with the increase in population, some cities are asking themselves how they can futureproof their centres and make sure that everyone can keep enjoying its benefits.

With a focus on co-design and innovation, Hackathon Thionville wants to challenge the participants to move from idea to operational solution as quick as possible – within 48 hours to be exact. They encourage the exploration of new processes, data tools and work perspectives in the hopes that these will challenge the participants to think outside of the box.

Co-organised by Thi’Pi, the heart of the digital ecosystem North of The Moselle, and the office of Commerce, de l’Artisanat et de l’Entrepreneuriat, the event will also award some exciting prizes for the best three solutions.

The winning team of the hackathon, announced on the evening of the 21st along with cocktails, will get their project financed and incubated for a total value of 22.000€ as well as one year of support by Thi’Pi and a one-year membership to the French East Tech association. Runner-up and third place will both be awarded 6 months of support by Thi’Phi as well as a one-year membership to the French East Tech association.

Interested parties can apply until the 30th of October 2021 via this link.
