House Of Startups Project Extended To 2029

Luxembourg innovation hub and incubator the House of Startups has announced its commitment to support the ecosystem until 2029.

The initiative, which launched in 2018, today hosts up to 170 startups, represented by 450 entrepreneurs and employees, equivalent to 90% of the site’s capacity.

The Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce was the key initiator of the project and remains its main funder.

Speaking at its annual garden party on 16 September, Chamber of Commerce director Carlo Thelen announced that the chamber would extend the HoSt project in the existing building by six additional years, until the end of 2019.

He said: “This is a sign of our confidence in the future of innovation in Luxembourg, and our ongoing commitment to supporting and developing this vibrant startup ecosystem.”

The event was attended by around 250 members of the startup ecosystem as well as economy minister Franz Fayot and finance minister Yuriko Backes.

Minister Fayot said: “The House of Startups has become a key player in the development of the ecosystem over time, offering affordable office space for young innovative companies and several key flagship initiatives.”

Among the initiatives that bring together startups are the Luxembourg-City Incubator, hosting 67 startups, the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (86), Le Village by CA (29) and the International Climate Finance Accelerator (28).
