Last week, the Luxembourg House of Financial Technology (LHoFT) hosted a full-day ‘Fintech Recruits’ event in Esch-sur-Alzette.
The event focused on highlighting career opportunities in the Fintech space in Luxembourg, particularly for young talent. Students and recent graduates came from nearby institutions such as Universität Trier, Université de Lorraine, Maastricht University, and Liège Université – to name a few.
Finologee was one of the event’s main sponsors and ran a particularly engaging session called ‘Entrepreneurial spirit in action’. This session was moderated by Jessica Bauldry from Silicon Luxembourg, and featured a Q&A style panel with three Finologee employees: Victoria Döringer, Nadège Seet, and Edgar Moussin.
The discussion kicked off with an overview of Finologee, a company that recently celebrated its fifth birthday in the presence of H.E. Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and is paving the way as one of Luxembourg’s leading digital finance platform operators. With headquarters in Luxembourg, they have nearly 40 employees from 15 different nationalities.
Finologee says, “We are on a mission to define the building blocks for digital finance with the aim to simplify connectivity between the traditional financial services industry and the new-age FinTechs. We serve more than 100 banks and institutions and handle more than 25 million transactions, messages and end-customer interactions per year on their behalf.”
Recent graduate and Finance and Compliance Manager, Edgar Moussin, shares his experience of working at Finologee. “I’m not just another employee, not just a number. I’m given real responsibilities where I can see the value I’m adding.”
He goes on to add that “My ideas are heard and I get to have a direct say on how to improve various internal processes. This also helps me progressing very fast and fuels my own entrepreneurial mindset.”
Finologee is currently hiring for multiple roles in the early talent space – from internships to full-time graduate positions. Head of HR, Admin and Finance, Nadège Seet, says “We look for talent who are curious with a ‘can-do’ mindset, and can spot ways to improve our business – the entrepreneurial spirit and approach is key.”
Nadège shares insights into some of Finologee’s perks – from its flexible ways of working, to its focus on career growth and learning and development – no two days are ever the same. “We recently had an IT Manager who wanted to upskill in a particular area, so we offered her a training certification to support this growth. This is the kind of company we are – we don’t have a checkbox career path, but one based on motivation above all.”
Victoria Döringer, responsible for Marketing and Bank Engagement at Finologee, joined the company in 2021. One of the first things Victoria noticed was how “employees really take ownership of their tasks. They would always take a moment to think, ‘is there a better way to do this?’” Victoria says it’s refreshing to see people demonstrating curiosity, and being brave enough to voice their ideas of how to improve various aspects of the business.
Victoria adds, “I believe that everyone in the team is passionate about what they’re doing, which is not something that can be taken for granted. I really think that we all want to bring the company forward, while creating and following our own career path.”
She explains that only recently, new features and developments of the ENPAY professional payments platform were presented to the team: such demo presentations, which take place regularly, are a moment to ask questions, but also an opportunity to celebrate these achievements together behind the scenes. “Finologee is a place with many possibilities for ambitious and motivated candidates.”
