Two Luxembourg-based startups recently secured funding; Salonkee and GAMMA AR. We caught up with them to understand how they’re using the raised funds to build out their teams, and most importantly, their culture.

In case you missed it, Salonkee, the Luxembourg-based online booking platform and management tool for hair, beauty and wellness appointments, raised €6.2M to accelerate their growth plans across Europe.
When planning their recruitment strategy, Salonkee had a clear idea of which positions they would need to hire first in order to execute their plan and achieve their ambitions. Like many startups, there is always a lack of resources, which is why they prioritized positions that would have the biggest impact short term, but also long term. Tom Michels, Salonkee Co-Founder & CEO says “with a growing number of customers and higher traction, all departments of Salonkee are growing at the same time to enable, support and accelerate our growth path.”

For new hires, regardless of their role, they are invited to Salonkee’s headquarters in Luxembourg for one week of onboarding. During this week, new joiners not only get training in their respective field, but it’s also an opportunity for them to get to know the company, the team, the culture of Salonkee and learn more about the vision and ambition of the company.

GAMMA AR, another Luxembourg-based startup who specializes in bringing BIM Models to the construction site using augmented reality, recently raised €1 Million. When it comes to building their team, they’ve recently hired for three new positions; a Sales Manager, Software Developer and Customer Success Manager. As they continue to grow, they’re on the hunt for additional Sales Managers, Developers and BIM Managers for Customer Success Managers.
