Huawei, the Chinese multinational technology company, launches the 5th edition of its Seeds for the Future, a flagship CSR educational program aimed at students with a strong interest in ICT.

The immersive tech experience around technology and culture, which is going to be held virtually from 19 to 26 July 2021, includes 15 hours of live-stream courses and access to 40+ online courses.

The event is organized in partnership with the University of Luxembourg, the Fondation Jeunes Scientifiques Luxembourg and with the support of Jonk Entrepreneuren.

The scheme includes four pillars: Technology (entry level and advanced courses in 5G, AI, Cloud, IoT, data, Smart City, Smart homes…) delivered through online courses and live lectures (with Huawei experts and guest speakers), Leadership & Career Development (sustainability and business leadership, strategic leadership, stories from China Silicon Valley), Trending topics (cyber security, China social media, aerospace industry, data) and Traditional and Modern China (live and interactive visit to the Great Wall and other sites, high tech companies visits to learn about China’s technology development).

A new curriculum

A new group project “Tech4Good” has been added to the curriculum. “This means that in addition to classes, small work groups are organized to encourage multi-cultural learning environment, to foster creativity and innovation and to trigger discussions on how to leverage technology to address social and/or environmental issues,” Dorothée de Nazelle, PR Manager at Huawei Luxembourg explains.

“Students will learn about cutting-edge technologies and get a more in-depth understanding of innovation needs in local markets, enabling them to better adapt to the ICT industry, de Nazelle adds. “The skills acquired through the program will give them more confidence, helping them stand out during their careers and within multi-cultural business environments.”

The students will have the possibility to meet and exchange with other students from the 130 countries and regions participating to the program.

At the end of the session, participants will receive a certificate from the organizers. They will also be invited to join the Seeds for the Future program alumni network on LinkedIn.
