Luxembourg’s inclusive finance ecosystem can be viewed by the public at the click of a button thanks to the creation of an interactive online map.

The map, which was developed by PHB Development with the Luxembourg Inclusive Finance network, InFiNe.lu, highlights the contributions of around 60 key actors in the field.

“Building over 25 years of experience in inclusive finance, InFiNe.lu decided it was time to map Luxembourg’s stellar inclusive finance ecosystem. The aim of this interactive online map is to give a trustworthy image of the diversity of the actors, the variety of sectors, while positioning the Luxembourg inclusive finance ecosystem as a center of excellence,” the interest group said in a press release.

“This cartography sets Luxembourg as the key player in inclusive finance.”

The map breaks the ecosystem down into sectors, fintechs, government actors, associations, and non-profit organisations. Alongside big names such as LuxFlag, ABBL and the Alliance for Financial Inclusion, are some smaller and newer actors such as mobile payment apps for unbanked populations Koosmik and Humaniq.

Chairman of InFiNe.lu Michel Maquil said: “This cartography sets Luxembourg as the key player in inclusive finance. It shows the dynamism of a sector playing a leading role in strengthening sustainable and inclusive finance, and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals.”

InFiNe.lu aims at stimulating financial inclusion as a key for poverty alleviation and empowerment of low-income groups. Representing 36 members, the platform selected inclusive finance players through data processing, analysis and evaluation.
