WIDE and Huawei are partnering on an online training program that inspires women to work in new tech.

Women in Digital Empowerment (WIDE), a Luxembourgish non-profit organization aims to support women in the digital economy and society and Huawei, the Chinese ICT group, is launching an online training program called “New Tech Discovery with Huawei” which aims to “inspire more women to work in tech”.
The four webinars and online courses that will be taught in English and are related to ICT will start on Monday 26 April and will last one month.
A first course on Software Defined Networking (SDN) will present the basics and the limitations of traditional networks. It will also go through application scenarios, as well as the current development and trends.
A second course on Data Centers (DC) will cover the core technologies, the history and the latest trends in cloud DC development.
The last session on Python Programming Basics will focus on the history, features and application areas of Python. Among other things, participants will learn the basic syntax and advanced use of Python as well as frequently used modules in its programming.
Grasping new technologies
“The objective of this partnership with WIDE is to promote gender equality in the digital sector. It is therefore crucial to empower women by providing them with the skills they need to consider a career in ICT,” Dorothée de Nazelle, PR Manager of Huawei Luxembourg explains.
“We know how difficult it currently is for young people to find an internship or a first experience,” Marina Andrieu, WIDE’s co-founder and director adds, “this initiative is a unique opportunity to benefit from a short, online training with international experts and to grasp the importance of new technologies.”
