Already active in Luxembourg and Belgium, the startup raised €600K with Project Rise to continue its growth and explore new markets.

Founded in 2020, Kidola offers an innovative platform that simplifies childcare professionals’ and parents’ lives. On the one hand, the platform cuts down on administrative work for childcare professionals while on the other, it allows parents to receive daily reports and updates on their children.

What started out as a side project of concerned parents quickly grew into something bigger. Supported by Fit 4 Start and user feedback, the app already had 100 daycares within its first year. Today, it counts over 200 daycares and 15K parents.

“Digitizing makes it possible to focus on what really matters: the wellbeing of the children. Managers can invoice parents in just a few minutes. In most cases they save half a day of work per month on top of saving a lot of paper,” said Jonathan Kindermans, co-founder of Kidola.

Having raised €600K through Project Rise, a relatively new investment initiative supporting local entrepreneurs through funding and mentorship, the startup is ready to take its next steps and expand its reach. Led by Talkwalker’s co-founder Christophe Folschette and Thibaut Britz, and Patrick Kersten, founder at Doctena and MediNation, Project Rise got involved to “help [Kidola] replicate their success outside of Luxembourg”.

“The team has developed a great product that’s both fun and useful, for parents as well as educators,” said Patrick Kersten.

Having already onboarded 25 daycares in Belgium, Kidola aims to continue its growth through Luxembourg’s neighbour for the near future. The startup is still waiting to hear back from the young innovative enterprises programme.
