A Finnish SaaS startup helping companies generate more leads and improve customer services support is about to open an office in Luxembourg.

Serviceform’s expansion comes after it secured €2m in funding through Swedish VC BackingMinds with additional investment added by existing investor Finnish VC firm Gorilla Capital.

Founded in 2018, today the SaaS startup’s software is used by over 1,500 websites and businesses in nine countries, including in the US, Europe and on the Asian continent. The software offers SMEs a simplified version of the kinds of tools used by larger firms to develop leads, improve customer support, management and analytics gathering.

CEO and co-founder Iranthi Gomes said: “We started Serviceform because we saw the lack of simple business software targeted for businesses outside the tech community when we were running a coffee catering business in Australia.”

Gomes and partner Jarkko Oksanen considered Luxembourg for their expansion after one of the firm’s angel investors, Matias Mäenpää, moved there.

“I always joked that he was a better influencer than the tourist board of highlighting Luxembourg,” the CEO said. A two-month visit to the Grand Duchy convinced Gomes and partner Oksanen of the benefits to a startup like theirs.

The finance will enable the firm to expand into Sweden and central Europe, scale its activities in Spain, Sri Lanka and Finland and more than triple the team size, from 30 to 100.

Work will begin on establishing the Luxembourg office in February and the firm aims to be operational by the end of the second quarter of 2022. In the Grand Duchy, the firm will soon begin recruiting for roles including country manager, sales manager, account managers, customers services and product development and marketing.

According to Gomes, Serviceform has already secured local partnerships with the Luxembourg School of Business, Mobilu, Nordic Design Shop and Immo Partner.
