Insights #4 – Sébastien Wiertz, Paul Wurth Incub

“There is no competition between the incubators. So we can help startups with specific needs from other incubators,” says Sébastien Wiertz, CEO of Paul Wurth Incub, when describing the collaborative spirit of the Luxembourg startup ecosystem.

“In Luxembourg, you can test your product and then scale up in Belgium, France, Germany and all over Europe.”

Luxembourg offers “a really concentrated ecosystem” with easy access to all institutions, as well as a strength collaboration between all players, according to Sébastien Wiertz.

Having a small but diverse market, with many potential partners from research institutes to corporates, Luxembourg is also a perfect testbed to enter the European market.

Public funding comes without equity, which is also “a unique asset” compared to other ecosystems, adds Sébastien Wiertz.
