Luxembourg To Host IASP’s 2023 World Conference

The IASP Board of Directors has decided to selected Luxembourg as the destination for its 2023 World Conference, with Technoport playing the local host and connecting the participants to the local ecosystem.

During its annual strategy meeting taking place from 14-15 February, the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation’s (IASP) Board of Directors has decided for Luxembourg to host its 2023 World Conference.

As the coordinator of an international network of managers of areas of innovation, science parks, innovation districts and knowledge districts, among others, the IASP enhances new business opportunities for its members and helps them increase their international visibility.

As such, being selected as the host is a big deal and with cities around the world vying for this spot, this is a huge honour and opportunity for Luxembourg to consolidate its status as an innovation hotspot. As a member of the IASP, Technoport will effectively act as the hosting party.

“I’m really honoured about the trust that IASP showed us by picking Luxembourg for the 2023 world conference location. Mingling with and learning from peers as well as being able to show how we support innovation and knowledge creation as a small country in a globalized world is crucial for us. This can help us design, finetune and implement future strategies too,” says Technoport CEO Diego De Biasio.

Technoport Scores Big

Luxembourg was not chosen randomly from the pool of applications. It was chosen after an in-depth discussion of the advantages each world city had to offer. In the end, Luxembourg was chosen for its central location in the heart of Europe, its focus on innovation, its multicultural environment and its presence of high-level international institutions.

Technoport played a crucial role in securing this position. At the end of the day, it was their continuous involvement in shaping Luxembourg into the innovation hub it is today, as well as its 25th anniversary as a technology business incubator.

“We are really excited to have Luxembourg as our World Conference destination for 2023: Technoport presented a fantastic bid that really showed how innovation is woven into the fabric of the city and region, making it an ideal location for our global community to meet and make connections,” says IASP CEO Ebba Lund.

A worldwide membership-based organization, IASP is an independent non-profit NGO whose International Board is made up of a total of 16 members from 14 different countries: China, Denmark, Ecuador, India, Iran, Italy, Kenya, Panama, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Thailand, the UK and the USA.
