The new recruitment platform offers the largest selection of vacancies in the healthcare and socio-educational branches, with jobs in nursing, obstetrics, young, elderly and home care, psychology/psychiatry and specialised medicine. Job openings also include occupations in administrative, cleaning and logistics branches.

MediNation.lu shows the jobs of the main players in these sectors. Only some of the jobs advertised require specific training,” founder Patrick Kersten explains.

A local heavy weight

Luxembourg’s health and social care system relies on some 50,000 professionals. “The sector thus has a weight equivalent to that of the financial sector in the country’s employment,” Patrick Kersten notes. “The events of 2020 and 2021 have underlined the importance of this sector for the Luxembourg[ish] society.”

However, most employers in these industries agree that the recruitment market is tight and that it can be challenging to fill jobs. Furthermore, job vacancies lack visibility and are not always easily accessible for candidates.

Hence, the site aims to facilitate access to these careers and to match the requests and expectations from employers and job seekers, based “on a transparency that represents a welcome spotlight for these professions and employers,” the founder and former CEO of Doctena.lu and atHome.lu adds.

Indeed, the initiative, the first in the Grand-Duchy, follows the example of similar media in neighbouring countries. “While there are specialised Luxembourg job boards for ICT or finance jobs, this sector was lacking a dedicated medium.”

MediNation.lu’s approach allows employers to publish all their vacancies without time or publication limits. The result is the most comprehensive selection of jobs on the market.

“This is an advantage for the candidate who until now had no choice but to consult ‘one-by-one’ the sites of the main employers to discover their offer. An e-mail alert service allows the candidate to sign up to receive by e-mail any new offer corresponding to their criteria,” Patrick Kersten observes.

MediNation is a registered trademark and a service by Incasa, a Luxembourg-based company. The site operates job boards for the health and care sectors. Its commercial offering allows for the publication of all of the employer’s vacancies or individual advertisements. The medium is only available to employers in these industries.
