“This acquisition enables Moovee to consolidate its position as a specialist and leader in the multimodal shared mobility market for businesses,” explains Sébastien Berthelot, its founder and CEO.

Already a strategic partner of ALD Automotive Luxembourg, the car leasing subsidiary of the Société Générale banking group, the startup will offer identical operational services in Belgium via ALD Automotive Belgium, for key accounts such as Decathlon.

Turnkey Solutions

“Our two companies will work together to offer a complete range of shared vehicle services (car, bicycles, scooters) and company carpooling services under a single application accessible from a smartphone,” continues Berthelot.

These turnkey solutions for customers and their employees include insurance, maintenance, assistance, repairs and reservations.

Created in 2017, Moovee quickly launched an application for sharing vehicles: bicycles, and kick scooters; parking management; and car-sharing in Luxembourg. And then signed a strategic partnership with ALD Automotive.

The startup boasts a fleet of 5,000 cars and 700 electric bicycles, 250,000 kms travelled by bicycle and 90,000 journeys in soft mobility in Luxembourg, France, and Belgium.

In 2021, the six-person company plans to consolidate its activities in the three countries and strengthen its position in the border regions, a potential market of 200,000 shared vehicles.
