“My First Enterprise” is a programme by Jonk Entrepreneuren giving high school students the tools to take their first steps into the world of business management. During the 2022 edition final, three teams were chosen as winners.

On 5 May 2022, the final of the fifth edition of “My First Enterprise” was held at the Deloitte Luxembourg headquarters.

Participating teams, composed of three to four students, had ten weeks to create a viable financial activity with a starting capital of only €40. During this time, they were able to take classes on business management given by experts in the field.

Out of 65 participants, a jury selected 12 finalists to present their projects to a final panel, which would then pick three winners.

This three-person panel consisted of Petra Hazenberg, ACG Partner at Deloitte Luxembourg, Erny Huberty, Head of Corporate Marketing at Enovos Luxembourg and Anne-Marie Solvi, Director of Paul Wurth Geprolux.

The winning teams

First place went to “Cake Factory”, a concept in which three students from the European School of Luxembourg sold cakes twice a week at their school. The jury applauded their exceptional financial management as well as their creative and enthusiastic presentation. Also, all of Cake Factory’s proceeds were donated to the Ukrainian Red Cross.

The team behind glasspainting_lu received second place. Three students from the Lycée Classique Echternach created personalised drawings on glass boards inspired by anime characters. The jury was impressed by the originality of the project and the team’s craftsmanship.

Third place was awarded to Glamour Resin. Four students from Ecole Privée Marie-Consolatrice created personalised keyrings out of resin. The jury highlighted the hours of work the team put into their project and the quality of their written rapport.

The organising team stated that “the level of the presentations from all three teams was impressive”.

The programme aims to foster entrepreneurial skills amongst teenagers and give them the opportunity to take their first steps into business management. They learn to work in a group, create a real project and to be in contact with suppliers as well as clients.
