How to facilitate access to patient medical data? How to improve patient’s treatment? How to easily share data between patients and health professionals, in a secured environment? MyHippocrates‘ mobile application is a cloud-based solution facilitating the access to patient medical data in a secured environment. The Luxembourgish startup, incubated at the lux future lab, has just been nominated by World Summit Award (WSA) as one of the best healthcare products in the world. We asked the team to detail the purpose of the concept and what they want to achieve in the near future.

What is the purpose of MyHippocrates?
The purpose of MyHippocrates is to resolve the problem of the lack of shareability and mobility in current solutions, and the following problems in the Medical ecosystem through Technology.
Today, a patient’s data are locked in local systems (at a doctor’s, hospitals, etc.), mostly not shareable, and unusable by the patient himself: (i) each time a patient consult a different health professional, a personal record of his data is created; (ii) each doctor has to repeat standard tests on the patient, just to know who he is; (iii) if the doctor needs to know the patient’s health history, he has to ask him directly or has to ask him to get the information from other health providers (lab results etc.); (iv) the same tests are done on the patient over and over again; (v) neither patient nor doctors can access the patient’s past medical history.

Existing software lacks features to efficiently use the data for the patient’s benefit and prevents health professionals to benefit from recent technologies. As a consequence, medical procedures are often duplicated and important information missed, at a high cost for patients, healthcare providers and society.

You were recently nominated by WSA, what does it mean for you?
The nomination by WSA as one of the 12 best healthcare products in the World with social impact is very precious to us as it recognizes the social impact we are trying to create.
We established MyHippocrates to resolve a very obvious but complex problem in modern society. Technology has affected all domains of society but timely, flexible and efficient healthcare still remains elusive to everyone. As an award established by the United Nations, we could not imagine a higher honor for MyHippocrates. This nomination validates our efforts and gives us the confidence to bring MyHippocrates to firstly the Luxembourgish and thereafter the European market in a more stronger way.
You are hosted at the Lux Future Lab, how does the incubator provides you?
The lux future lab has been our home from the onset of MyHippocrates. It provides us the ideal environment to develop MyHippocrates with world class facilities and the highest degrees of encouragement a startup could aspire for. With their meticulous mentor ship, access to other great Luxembourgish startups and regular conferences, we have been able to develop MyHippocrates at a much faster rate than we would have been able to do normally.
What are the next steps for your startup?
We are currently very close to bringing MyHippocrates to the Luxembourgish market. Very soon, we will be distributing MyHippocrates on the mobile and web platforms for free to the Doctor’s community in Luxembourg.

This will help them save time, money and most importantly have the pleasure of providing their patients the best levels of care and convenience. Simultaneously we will finish the mobile application for patients in phase 2 so that both sides of the medical equation benefit from MyHippocrates. We also seek support from the investor community to help us with resources to make MyHippocrates as Luxembourg’s and Europe’s preferred Health solution.
