Nomoko wins the ZKB TECHNOPARK® Pioneer Award 2016

Nomoko, one of the first high-tech companies in Park Innovaare, has every reason to celebrate. Last Tuesday, the startup was awarded the ZKB TECHNOPARK© Pioneer Award 2016, one of the most prestigious innovation prizes in Switzerland. (Nomoko AG -v.l. The ZKB TECHNOPARK® Pioneer Award honors societally relevant technological innovations which – thanks to pioneering entrepreneurial achievements – are about to be launched on the market. The award is endowed with CHF 98,696.04, a figure that represents 10,000 times pi squared. Nomoko faced strong competition this year. 130 innovative start ups submitted their projects.

New opportunities for the 3D-modelling

Nomoko is currently developing an extremely high resolution camera and 3D modeling software. Its goal is to build 1-gigapixel compact camera, that will provide twenty times the resolution of the best camera on the market today. Exceeding the threshold of human eye resolution, images captured by a nomoko camera will be indistinguishable from reality. Such amount of information within a single image will open new opportunities for 3D-modelling, as fewer images will be needed to construct lifelike 3D models. The technology can be applied in numerous fields, from virtual reality and entertainment industry to robotics and simulations.

A startup selected for the Fit for Start program

Nomoko is one of the five startups selected for the Spring edition of the Fit for Start program in Luxembourg, and announced in March by Luxinnovation. They just started the 16-week coaching program at the end of March and will receive a grant of €50,000 from the Ministry of the Economy.
