The Luxembourg satellite operator is one of five prospective anchor tenants of Western Australia’s Defence Forge, with Perth consortium AROSE.

OQ Technology and Perth consortium AROSE submitted a joint bid for local satellite manufacturing and a sovereign 5G direct-to-device constellation.

“We spent months asking Western Australian organisations what they actually need, and the answers are now shaping the satellites we intend to build,” said Omar Qaise, founder and CEO of OQ Technology. Roger Cook, Premier of Western Australia, said the Forge will “create new jobs and investment.”

The firm recently streamed drone video via LEO and secured €25M from the EIB.
