He is a well-known figure in the media scene in Luxembourg with a passion for innovation. As of today he leaves the Operations Department of VitalBriefing to become COO ad interim of Stampify, a RegTech startup specialized in the digitalization of shareholder and board meetings.
What were your reasons for taking this decision?
VitalBriefing has been a wonderful adventure these past 8 years: fighting fake news, implementing a sustainable business, delivering trusted content across multiple industries, and building scalable operations. The sanity covid crisis has imposed a new reality: being a full-time at-home father during 10 weeks has proven that the operations of VitalBriefing were fully resilient.
The proprietary Content Management System we have developed is fully scalable. The core team in Luxembourg plus the 70+ journalists worldwide have been working round the clock. I’m happy now to step down from the operations, but remain a supportive and significant shareholder, and will still extend my reach to new challenges.
What, in your opinion, are the major challenges in the digital transformation of companies?
As Bill Gates said: this virus will likely lead to the biggest shrinkage of GDP in any of our lifetimes. It’s a major transformative event. We need to transform HR, supply chain, production, sales, corporate governance… businesses need to become more digital, but also more circular and more regional.
That’s why I got accredited “Fit 4 Resilience” by Luxinnovation, in order to help SMEs to reinvent themselves and thrive in this whole new environment.
What will be your new assignments at Stampify?
Stampify offers a perfect RegTech solution that companies urgently need today: a platform that digitalizes and automates shareholder registries, board meetings and general assemblies of shareholders in a legally biding way. The covid crisis has been a great accelerator for Stampify (see our article “Stampify to launch its digital board meeting platform for free during Covid-19“).
My challenge will be to manage growth: structure the operations, find optimal solutions to lower friction and guarantee compliance.
A note from Guillaume de Vergnies, Stampify’s Co-founder & CEO, and Bernard Legros, Stampify’s Co-founder & CIO.
“As co-founders, we have envisioned a highly scalable governance platform targeting the European market. To achieve this exponential growth, working out opportunities requires us to be surrounded by the best entrepreneurs. Pierre-Yves is a key asset to make this happen”.
