The RE-Smart conference in Luxembourg gathers leading real estate companies and startups with innovative technological solutions. With insightful conferences on future real estate challenges, the event caters to developers, agents, architects, and more, offering a full day of networking opportunities. Silicon Luxembourg talked to the organizers Laurent Rouach and Philippe Raynaud.

Can you give us an overview of the RE-Smart conference, including its purpose, goals, and target audience?

On June 8, 2023, the RE-Smart summit, under the patronage of Corinne Cahen, Minister for the Greater Region, will provide an opportunity to discover the latest innovations in the Greater Region and beyond, to share with real estate industry professionals and to network. It will feature a 1,000 m² exhibition space with nearly 35 stands of real estate start-ups, and two conference platforms to understand the challenges of the sector. A TV studio will present interviews throughout the day, and a demo room will host startups and their customers.

What are the key themes and topics that will be covered at this year’s conference, and how do they relate to the future of real estate and smart property technologies?

Our conference program has been built to cover the various issues facing the industry. We have therefore called on international speakers, and specialists in the various fields covered. New trends will be addressed in depth such as the concept of Living-as-a-Service, the challenges of low carbon construction, biodiversity in the built environment, where the disruption is coming in construction, the challenges of Renovation induced by the new strategy that the European Commission has put in place “A Renovation Wave for Europe – Greening our buildings”, and many others.

RE-Smart Conference: “The Consequences Will Be Huge”

Can you discuss any keynote speakers or special guests that will be attending this year’s conference, and how they will contribute to the overall event?

We have about 45 international and national speakers from all walks of life. Well-known startups like Automated Architecture, Hoplr (the neighborhood network of Luxembourg city), Greenomy, Commuty, international architects like Vincent Prioux, Edouard Francois or Nico Steinmetz, large VC’s like Realize venture/Bitstone Capital, PI labs, international Real estate funds like Alfa Dev, Brunswik RE, international developers active in Luxembourg and national ones like Iko, Fonds du logement, SNHBM, etc.

How has the RE-Smart conference evolved over time, and what are the plans for future iterations of the event?

Last year’s RE-Smart 2022 was a success, with nearly 400 visitors (architects and engineers, financiers and investors, developers, notaries, agents and trustees).  RE-Smart 2023 has been built on this same model, creating new activities such as a demo room for startups who will present their solutions in a quiet environment, a competition (RE-Smart 23 Trophy) which will reward an exemplary collaboration between a PropTech and a corporate. This event will be the climax of the fair.

Editor’s note: RE-Smart 23, the real estate innovation and new technologies summit, will take place on June 8th in Luxembourg: Exhibitors, conferences, demonstrations, TV interviews etc. all day long. 2 cycles of conferences will take place during this innovation summit, with a high-end international line-up. (Proptechs, RE funds, RE VCs, International developers,…) in English or French.
