The gifts you can send on Giftable aren’t physical goods, but experiences – pleasant moments that make the receiver feel good: massages, escape games, a sauna, a lunch, or a coffee. “We play on emotion,” explained Michel Hoffmann, the founder of the startup.

Giftable already has a catalogue of some 300 experiences to offer, in partnership with some 60 Luxembourg retail and leisure companies.

After receiving a text message or a notification (if they are already members of the Giftable community), the beneficiaries – friends, relatives, and employees – can collect their gift via a QR code, and experience it in one of more than 150 locations.

“Our community already has more than 1,000 people who have downloaded the application.”

Upcoming European Experiences

Started during the pandemic, the application supports local businesses. “For them, there are no installation costs, no investment, but there is visibility,” says Michel Hoffmann. On each transaction that is 100% completed, the startup takes a commission paid by the gifter Giftable is also intended to be fun – by offering badges, level gains, and other voluntarily hidden Easter eggs. “The idea is based on kindness and to create a community of benefactors,” said its founder. “Our community already has more than 1,000 people who have downloaded the application.”

By 2021, Michel Hoffmann wants to develop his activity in European capitals – Berlin and Paris in particular, and open an office there with a general manager and marketing, sales, and HR teams. In each country, this unique platform will offer local experiences to be used by regional businesses.

Giftable is also expected to launch a B2B service aimed at employers wishing to reward their employees, either via its application or the company’s website. To carry out these projects, the startup is currently negotiating fundraising initiatives.

Launched in August 2019 and supported by Luxembourg Business Angels, Giftable will have 10 employees by early 2021, including a new COO.
