SONIC VISIONS is Luxembourg’s main music industry event that connects artists and professionals from the music, IT and creative industries from all over Europe. Directly neighbouring the key markets of Belgium, France and Germany, SONIC VISIONS is an initiative of Rockhal and Rocklab.
By combining the two main activities of Rockhal as a concert promoter and its Rocklab as a music & creative industries incubator, SONIC VISIONS Music Lab is the platform where music professionals, artists and musicians meet with first-class industry experts to exchange, discuss, network and get inspired.
In collaboration with its long-time partner, Film Fund Luxembourg, SONIC VISIONS will kick-off this year already on Thursday 14 November by dedicating an additional day of the SONIC VISIONS Music Lab to explore the fascinating relationship between music and cinema.
The 2019 SONIC VISIONS Music Lab edition will be taking place from the 14th to the 16th of November in the setting of Belval’s beautiful and impressive blast furnaces and feature a series of hands-on workshops, theme-oriented panels, inspiring masterclasses and keynotes by renowned international speakers and various networking opportunities.
Topics discussed will be e.g. artist management & development, the role of innovation and technology in music, European networks for the music industry, synch and music for film, streaming, promotion and social media for artists, copyright, the future of music publishing in an all-digital world, and mental health in the music industry.
2019 will see some high-profile speakers to come for the first time to Luxembourg:
14 NOV: Masterclass by Sylvain Bellemare (sound editor and sound designer, BAFTA Award for Best Sound and Academy Award for Best Sound Editing for “Arrival” in 2017): “The Quest for Sound Design: Cinema, Music, and Everything Else” (in French)

For the festival crowd, the SONIC VISIONS Festival will offer an eclectic line-up of established and upcoming artists with more than 30 bands and artists on 4 stages: Yungblud, Balthazar, Matt Simons, Alec Benjamin, Girl In Red, and many more, plus of course some of the best from Luxembourg’s pop, rock & urban music scenes: Christina Kalyss, Chaild, Klein, Tuys, Maz, The Choppy Bumpy Peaches. A unique opportunity to witness already today the amazing breakthrough artists of tomorrow!
