Space-based data analytics firm Spire Global has promoted the COO of its maritime operations to CEO.
John Lusk, who is based in Luxembourg and joined Spire in 2018, succeeds Peter Mabson as CEO of the firm’s maritime operations.
According to Spire, he has more than 25 years’ experience in go-to-market strategy, scaling high-growth products, business development and operations. He previously led Spire’s global data analytics and space services and oversaw the expansion of the company’s maritime, aviation and weather data solutions.
Spire Global also announced the appointment of Peter Mabson as Chief Strategy Officer. Mabsen was appointed CEO for maritime operations following the acquisition of exactEarth in November 2021. He had worked as president and CEO of exactEarth for 13 years.
