SustainCERT Raises $37m To Verify Climate Impacts

Luxembourg-based climatetech SustainCERT raised $37m in Series B with investments from Partech, Hartree Partners and existing shareholders, such as the Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund. The funds will support the climatetech in scaling its impact verification solution for carbon markets and Scope 3 emissions.

Founded in 2018, SustainCERT has been steadily working on bringing credibility to climate action by offering a digital platform which verifies climate impact claims. After a successful $10 Million raise in 2021, its Series B will allow it to take a big stride forward towards bringing its climate impact verification platform to the global market.

“We exist to bring credibility to climate action; and this investment – our largest fundraising to date – will enable us to continue increasing the speed and accuracy at which climate impacts can be verified,” says Marion Verles, CEO of SustainCERT.

The round includes investment from PartechHartree Partners and existing shareholders Citizen CapitalInnovacom and the Microsoft Climate Innovation Fund.

“Since our initial investment in 2021, the need to improve measurement, reporting and verification of GHG emissions reduction and removal has only continued to grow as the world looks to reach net zero,” says Brandan Middaugh, Director, Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund. “This follow-on investment represents our continued commitment to SustainCERT’s mission of bringing credibility to climate action.”

The climatetech has its HQ in Livange Luxembourg and employs over 100 climate professionals.
